Rainy Day Fun (& Giveaway!)

My children love to play in the rain. While I enjoy having them run their energy off on a dark an gloomy day I don't like to deal with all the soaking wet laundry once they come inside.

So was I ever thrilled when I was given the opportunity to review some products from Kidorable and ran across their umbrellas. Umbrellas, of course! Why didn't I ever think of umbrellas?! Seriously, getting the kids umbrellas to play in the rain never crossed my mind until I saw the umbrellas at Kidorable. They also have matching rain coats, towels, boots, hats, backpacks, and much more.

They supplied us three umbrellas to test out and I let each child pick out their favorite design. Becca chose the cat, Jacob the frog, and Joe the dog.
When they arrived in the mail I allowed Joe to take his out and play in the sprinkler with daddy. He had a blast and ran around for over half an hour with his umbrella. Anyone that knows Joe knows that he doesn't have much of an attention span, even when it comes to toys, so I knew that this was a winner! I told the older two that we would save their umbrellas for a rainy day. This was the first time ever that the kids begged for rain each and every day!

They got their wish on the 4th of July when they came running inside to tell me that it was sprinkling out. Sure enough, it was, so we grabbed all three umbrellas and tore the packaging off Becca and Jacob's. They screeched with joy and ran outside to play. They danced around the yard, marched down the sidewalk with them, and found other creative uses to have imaginary play.

I was a bit worried about Joe and his umbrella as he is just a toddler and none too careful with his toys but even with dragging the umbrella around and flopping it against the sidewalk, trees, and himself it held up just perfectly and still looks brand new.

It started to pour soon after I took these pictures, which means even more fun when you have an umbrella.

The best part for me was that even after an hour of playing in the rain they were relatively dry when they came inside! Yay!

After receiving these umbrellas in the mail I have noticed kid's umbrellas at stores but they are so poorly made compared to these adorable ones from Kidorable. If they can put up with Joe's abuse they should be able to withstand anything! There are several designs to choose from and I have to say that these are seriously adorable! When the neighbor girl saw the kids outside with these she ran over with her friends and joined in the fun. They would make amazing gift ideas and are useful to boot.
Would you like the chance to win an umbrella of your own? Kidorable has offered one umbrella for one lucky winner. Just leave a comment on this post.

  7. Sounds like these umbrellas are sturdy. My girls have gone through a lot of cheap ones. It would be nice to have one that was made to last around children!
