Look!

I got these...

When I bought this...

All these years buying used cars from private sellers or small dealerships I was missing out on the "special treatment" that larger dealerships give you. I didn't realize I could enjoy Starbucks coffee, popcorn, and cookies while watching a big screen television while all our paperwork was being done. I didn't realize that along with the final handshake I would also be receiving a bouquet of flowers! Nice!

Seriously, we didn't intend to spend so much on a vehicle but really liked this one after test driving it. We didn't expect to spend twice what our original budget was for a vehicle. But I am glad that we were able to get something a little more reliable than what our current van is and that while we weren't able to pay all cash we will have this thing paid off in about five months. And the kids aren't complaining about the DVD player that it has...just need to figure out how to work the sound on it.

This is the first Toyota we have owned. I've only heard good things about them but would love to hear if any of you have owned a Toyota and how you would rate them!

  2. Nice van!! Sounds like you got a great deal on it!? We have an 03 Dodge caravan sport we could have sold to you cheap but it has issues.. the driver side window doesn't want to work all the time, the driver side sliding door lock doesn't work, the rear window wiper doesn't work, the compressor is going out, and it probably needs a new rack (again) and all the fluids checked. On the bright side it has brand new brakes on the front tires and new tires too.. no DVD player or anything cool like that. Our payment isn't up until March or so. I am thinking we are keeping this baby until she dies completely. I want to get everything fixed (in March) and working so it will last even longer. I can't wait to not have a car payment of almost $350 a month!! Yippee!! We plan to pay off all our credit cards.. and fix up the house... then sell it and move to a nicer area. I love this house but the neighborhood is not the greatest.. maybe it will change though because most the kids are teenagers or young adults living with their parents so maybe THEY will move and young families will move in.. we hope so. But just in case we are fixing the place up by updating the fixtures, etc. LOVE YOUR BLOG!!! You have a wonderful heart and family!! God Bless!

  3. We've had a Toyota truck since 1996. Love it! We also have a Toyota Echo since 2002. We have over 145 some thousand on the truck and 85 on the car. We lived in PA until 2005 when we moved to AL. Needless to say they did have a lot of salt on them in PA but they have held up really well. We are going to keep them until they die and then maybe buy a Prius or an electric car. Never have had a problem with either one of them. Just keep the maintenance up on them, change your oil and get a new battery every so often and you should be fine.
